Letters to a Prisoner- part 1.

A few years ago I found a bag of letters in a pile of trash in the ghetto. I don't know why I took them but I felt like I had to. The bag was soaking wet from the rain and alot of the paper got ruined, but I sorted them out and there were approximately 100 letters and cards to a guy who was locked up for a few years named Ronnie. The letters are from a variety of different women, 2 claiming to be "wifey", one who he has a child with, and other randoms who's relationship I couldn't really place. Not all of them are signed so it's hard to tell who is who. Some are sexually charged, some happy, and some brutal. I'm slowly going to put them on here as I get time. These are the first 4 that I typed out and scanned.

I hope your doing well! I know this is your 2nd birthday being locked up but don't sweat it. Shit happens for a reason! I know you seen the news about your friends! that shit was crazy as hell! Maybe it was better that you are in jail because they went down hard body! and fatbob? It's a wrap for him! Everybody went down. This is your opportunity to start over. (think about it) anyways! I love you just like the card says... see you soon.

I want you to be the best father to our son. You've missed out on every day of his life except 2 days. I had to raise him alone and i'm being the best mom I can and more. I just want you to always be in his life and raise him to be the best and you can't raise him to be the best if you don't show him how to be the best.

Sorry this didn't get to you in time but i've been working and going to school hard body and I had got stabbed in the eye when I was at work. Don't worry i'm ok. It's better now but I couldn't see for a while. Please don't think I forgot about you because I didn't. You're my strength, the reason I do the things I do. I'm just trying to get shit right! I've been trying to put my priorities in order before you come home so I can help you get yourself together. I don't want to feel like i've wasted my time and you already had plans to fuck the town. I'm not ready to deal with no more shit from you ronnie, I don't want no bullshit in my life. If you want to come home and have fun before we become serious, let me know, maybe it would be good for us to wait to become anything. We should take some time 1st and then work on building a relationship if it's what we both want. We should wait, you've been in jail for 1yr and 4 months. LOP BA NICK BOX- 4 cryptic words that for years loomed over various I-90 and inter city overpasses and highway supports throughout Buffalo, NY. It has been reported to me in my efforts to research this that there were also several LOP BA NICK BOX's in Rochester NY, Albany NY, and Erie PA. Unfortunately the last LOP BA NICK BOX in Buffalo was destroyed circa 2005, this current photograph was taken on an 1-90 overpass in Erie. The creator is still completely unknown and has left no explanation or meaning behind the words. The only variable that I have ever seen was randomly coming across one somewhere in PA that said "Nick's Why Me?" in the same writing, and I foolishly neglected to photograph it. If you have any information pertaining to LOP BA NICK BOX, or old photographs, please contact me.

Had the pleasure of meeting a huge inspiration to me, Attila Csihar, after a Sunn show last month. His previous efforts in Tormentor and Mayhem are some of my all time favorite records, needless to say it was a pretty humbling night. This show was actually one of the craziest things i've ever seen in my life... the videos below are great from an audio standpoint, but the live setting itself was beyond intense.

New York City mosaic man Jim Power. For years this NYC based artist has created and maintained the timeless and beautiful mosaic poles that have lined the streets of lower Manhattan. He is currently going through hard times, as he is homeless and in poor health. On top of his powerful and classic contributions to the NYC art scene, he is also a Vietnam war veteran. I can only hope that somehow the city or state can recognize his efforts and aid him in his time of need. You can find him frequently at the corner of 2nd avenue and St. Marks place if you would care to support him or speak with him. He is a very kind individual.

Had the pleasure of seeing Prurient, who is a large inspiration to me. Was very pleased to see that he can indeed "provide" in person and not just on recording. Live 2009.
